From the age of 14, I knew I was going to be a chiropractor. I loved the concept of healing through touch and was always the kid who was hugging my friends or rubbing someone’s shoulders after a tough day. My future seemed clear: I envisioned myself helping people alleviate their pains and improve their lives without prescribing medicine or performing surgery. But alongside this vision of my professional future, there was another, more personal expectation I believed I needed to meet
You know. I was tall and thin-5'9" AND 160#- in high school. I thought I was huge because everyone was talk8ng about weight. #100- 110 pounds. I was a big girl. Very athletic and extremely strong. However, I dieter like crazy all through college and my dating g years because I thought I was huge. I am now considered obese, but remain active and strong at 68 y/o age. I am ok with who I am now. Thanks for your story, Cheryl! I wish we could have all have been taught that bodies come in all shapes and sizes and we don’t have a ton of control of that in the long run. I love looking at the photo of all my great aunts and see the variety of genetics for size among the 10 women. A great portrayal for the next generations.
